The Second Annual Sargon Research Summit hosted by Gabrail Cancer Center at the Pro-Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, held on August 12th and 13th was again a great success. This innovative Summit designed to help community oncology practices get involved and excel in clinical research is a first of it’s kind.
The attendees’ evaluation was extremely positive both in terms of content and venue organization. It was a fun event indeed! We had outstanding speakers give presentations ranging from explaining the value of clinical research to community oncology to the history of chemotherapy drug development. Special talks were designated to explaining the biosimilars and the need for community oncology to get involved in the development of those agents.
An added feature this year was advisory boards to help our valued pharmaceutical partners better understand the landscape of their products and their advantage in community oncology.
Gabrail Cancer Center and Sargon Research are already preparing for the Third Annual Sargon Research Summit to be held at the same place in mid August 2017. We expect and plan to expand the program including more expanded advisory boards and broader discussion topics.
We urged our affiliates and previous attendees to stay tuned for the “save the date” notice to be sent in the spring of 2017.
The success of the Summit could not have happened with out the hard work, commitment and zeal of our valued staff, we cordially thank them all for a job well done. We equally thank the attendees who take the time of their tight schedule to share with us their knowledge and experience.
