What are Quality Measures in Healthcare?

Nash Gabrail, M.D. and Carrie Smith, R.N. present The Cancer Gene.

Who determines the quality of healthcare providers?

In this episode of The Cancer Gene we will talk about the different ways and places that give healthcare providers ratings. What ratings can you trust?

See the excerpt from the “Blueprint for the CMS Measures Management System”

CMS released its quality strategy (QS) in late 2013. Building off the framework of the National Quality
Strategy, our QS articulates 6 goals to improve the quality of care in our health care system:

1) Make Care Safer
2) Strengthen Person and Family Engagement
3) Promote Effective Communication and Coordination of Care
4) Promote Effective Prevention and Treatment
5) Work with Communities to Promote Best Practices of Healthy Living
6) Make Care Affordable
